New Zealand’s MHCs
With an annual export revenue of around USD 6.8 billion, New Zealand’s forestry industry is experiencing several changes in the way it handles its timber exports.
ISO Limited, a Qube Company, a container management company, and Liebherr Maritime Crane, a machine manufacturer, have cooperated to support the sizeable lumber industry in New Zealand and developed a state-of-the-art timber handling solution for the ports of Tauranga and Gisborne.
Maritime harbour cranes (MHCs) have been operating in these two ports in New Zealand, in what is considered as a “lighthouse project.” Paul Cameron, Director and CEO at ISO Limited: "The new MHCs have significantly changed the way logs are loaded in New Zealand and most importantly are a significant step-change to our current practices, improving both safety and productivity."
Indeed, it is a demonstration of ISO's safety mission and Liebherr’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions that drive efficiency and safety in maritime operations.
