New train between Romania and Poland
The Transmec Group has expanded its intermodal services by launching a new route. The first train to Lodz (Poland) departed from Oradea (Romania) on 20 March, in cooperation with P&O Ferrymasters.
The shuttle initially offers one roundtrip per week. Departure day in Romania is Wednesday and Friday in Lodz. A second round trip will commence in May (second departure day in Romania will be Friday and Thursday in Poland).
Oradea is Transmec’s private terminal jointly owned with P&O Ferrymasters. Demand for intermodal services continues to grow: Transmec handled 13,000 intermodal shipments to/ from Romania in 2018. The average train utilisation rate was high. (ben)
