New TOS operative in the port of Livorno
The CILP multipurpose terminal in the port of Livorno enters a new digital era. Its Milos® terminal operating system (TOS) is now operative.
Circle, a company specialising in the analysis and development of automation and digitalisation solutions for the port sectors and intermodal logistics, worked the solution out with CILP multipurpose terminal, the port of Livorno's main terminal operator, in which the NGI Group (Neri – GIP 2.0) and CPL each hold a 50% share.
This digital infrastructure for the terminal, which offers different areas for the handling of various product categories, i.e. forest products (over 700,000 t in 2019), new cars (over 305,000 units in 2019) and other vehicles (over 61,000 t in 2019), project cargo (over 4,700 t in 2019) and containers, was complex.
Luca Abatello, CEO of Circle, was quoted in a press release: "This is the most demanding and complex project of a terminal operating system for a multipurpose terminal in Italy." (mw)
