New TOS for Trieste Intermodal Maritime Terminal
Trieste Intermodal Maritime Termina (TIMT) in the port of Trieste, and the Circle Group,a specialist for the analysis and development of automation and digitalization solutions for port sectors and intermodal logistics, have signed a contract to provide the Milos® Terminal Operating System (TOS) to the terminal.
The project, which will also involve the Samer shipping agency and Turkish operator Ulusoy, both shareholders of TIMT, will exploit the integration and interoperability of Milos® with evolutive platforms used by the Port of Trieste (Sinfomar®, developed by Info.era), Samer shipping and Ulusoy. These synergies will allow the sharing of information between all players of the supply chain, obtaining real time information, event recording for more accurate reporting and visibility about yard availability situation, trailer operative management, mobile reachstacker interoperability and optimization for shipping line planning and management.
“We are highly interested in any new opportunity for optimization possibilities between the terminal and shipping line and the development of simplified customs procedures between Italy and Turkey,” stated Luca Abatello, CEO of Circle Group and president of Info.era. (mw)
