New terminal in Sweden
DB Schenker has opened a new logistics terminal in the Allmans district in the south of Stockholm. The new hub has 98 gates on an area of 122,000 sqm.
Spanning 14,400 sqm, the terminal's central handling facility can deliver 4,000 parcels per hour. It is thus one of the largest terminals in the company’s network, which also includes 29 hubs in Sweden.
The new terminal is equipped with solar cells with an output of 150 kW, which will generate 140,000 kWh of electricity annually. Geothermal energy will be used. Charging stations for electric vehicles are available at the cargo gates and in the parking lots. (ben)
