New terminal for east-west axis
Swiss intermodal operator Hupac is building a new terminal in Brwinów near Warsaw (Poland). The new hub will enable an efficient exchange of goods in central and eastern Europe and support intermodal traffic between Europe, Russia and China, Hupac said.
Construction works on the almost 140,000 sqm site have just begun. The first phase involves the building of a 42,000 sqm storage area, four loading tracks with a minimum length of 750 m and administrative facilities, three more cargo handling tracks and high performance gantry cranes will follow in a second phase.
The terminal is expected to come on stream in Q3/2022 and offer rail/road transhipment of intermodal loading units and storage, warehousing and last-mile trucking services. (ben)
