New shuttle to link Luxembourg and Germany
Stena Line, LkW Walter, Rostock Port and CFL will launch a new rail connection between the Intermodal Terminal Bettembourg-Dudelange in Luxembourg and the RTM Terminal at the Rostock Port in Germany on 11 January 2021.
The intermodal connection will offer three roundtrips per week, transporting craneable and non-craneable trailers as well as containers. The shuttle will also link the existing rail corridors (Lyon, Le Boulou in France) via Luxembourg with the Rostock Port and its ferry lines to Trelleborg in Sweden.
Moreover, the new offer will enable the transfer of an equivalent of 10,000 trucks from road to rail and CO2 savings of about 18,000 t CO2 per year. (ben)
