New service between Milan and the USA
A new large capacity freight service linking Milan-Malpensa (MXP) and Cincinnati was launched last week. From Tuesdays to Saturdays, an A330-200F of DHL offers around 15 t of freight capacity per roundtrip, used, amongst others, to transport goods "made in Italy".
Nazzarena Franco, head of DHL Express Italy: "With the new intercontinental flight to our third hub after Leipzig and Hong Kong we support those companies that operate in Italy’s most important export market. In the first half of the year, the United States accounted for 21% of Italy’s trade volume outside Europe."
Armando Brunini, CEO of airport operator SEA, welcomed the start of the new service as a good opportunity for MXP to become a point of reference for freight traffic in southern Europe. (ah)
