New rail terminal opens in Oregon

Lost Creek Rock Products' coastal reload yard on the North Spit in Coos County, Oregon (USA) is now in operation. The new multi-modal, multi-commodity rail to truck and truck to rail terminal will serve the entire Southern Oregon Coastal Region.

The terminal is served by the Coos Bay Rail Line (CBRL), which is owned by the port of Coos Bay. The US short line railroad operates a 215 km line between Coquille and Eugene. It connects the class I network of Union Pacific Railroad offering connectivity to Canada, Mexico, the Gulf Coast and East Coast markets.

CBRL moves 5,000 loaded rail cars per year, equal to 16,500 truckloads. The new yard handles high quality aggregates and forest products. (ben)
