New rail service between Belarus and Romania
Belintertrans, the transport-logistics centre (BTLC) of Belarusian Railway, will introduce a regular container train service from Belarus to Romania. The journey will take 39 hours. Partners are Rail Cargo Logistics (Slovenia) and Zakhid Trans Service (Ukraine).
The first container train carrying wood products will depart from Hantsavichy (Belarus) in the second week of March. The train will consist of 124 containers placed on flatcars. Belintrans expects to transport 120,000 t of freight per year with this service.
In cooperation with Russian and Azerbaijan rail operators, Belarusian Railway also intends to launch a new export train between Minsk—Baku this year. (ben)
