New partnership in Indiana's short-line rail network

In the USA, G&W’s affiliates, Peoria & Western Railway (TPW) and Central Railroad Company of Indianapolis (CERA), have signed long-term agreements to lease and operate the Winamac Southern Railway and Kokomo Railroad, respectively, which together own 92 km of track in Indiana.

TPW and CERA are expected to handle 5,000 carloads per year over the new lines, consisting primarily of agricultural products, chemicals and plastics and metals. Together with G&W’s Illinois & Midland Railroad and Tazewell & Peoria Railroad, the new leases create a contiguous 645 km, four-railroad footprint spanning from eastern Indiana to western Illinois with connections to six class I railroads.
