New north-south axis over the Brenner Pass
Kombiverkehr, which is based in Frankfurt (Germany), will add a new north-south axis to its European network. As from the beginning of May 2019, the terminal in Kreuztal in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district (North Rhine Westphalia), which was inaugurated only recently, will launch the direct train link to and from Verona (northern Italy) as previously announced.
At the same time, the company will introduce a new multi-group train service in close cooperation with Mercitalia Intermodal, linking up the Kornwestheim terminal (Baden-Wuerttemberg) to the Italian rail network.
Both connections will start and end at the Quadrante Europa hub in Verona. With its new offering, Kombiverkehr increases its runs to and from Italy via the Brenner Pass to 148 train departures per week. (ben)
