New logistics terminal in Marseille


A logistics terminal commenced operations in Marseille (France) recently The inauguration of the centre will expand DHL Freight’s road logistics network in the South of France and the overall Mediterranean region, as the site will also be a gateway for transports to and from Tunisia.

The new facility boasts a cross-deck area of 3,200 sqm, with 35 docks. The terminal also offers the consolidation and deconsolidation of LTL shipments for distribution in the European market.

With regards to sustainability, solar panels cover around 30% of the rooves at the site. Electric vehicles and alternative fuels, including biogas (bio-LNG and bio-CNG) and hydro-treated vegetable oils (HVO), will also be in use for its transport services. (sh)
