New LNG units for PIL
Pacific International Lines (PIL) is investing again. According to the local press in Singapore, the liner has ordered four newbuilds. Currently, two 13,000 teu LNG units are confirmed, and another two are in the pipeline. The vessels will be built at Jiangnan Shipyard.
PIL currently has a capacity of about 268,000 teu. The newbuilds will push it over the 300,000 teu mark. The shipping company has been back in the race since Temasek Holdings acquired 75% of its shares for an investment of USD 600 million in 2020. (sh)
