New light transport aircraft in the East

The first prototype of the IL-112V, built under a contract with the Russian Federation's ministry of defence, took to the skies on 30 March 2019.

The first military transport aircraft, which was created from scratch in the post-Soviet period, can replace the AN-26, which it exceeds twice in transport efficiency. Capable of carrying up to 5 t, a civil version "IL-112T" is also planned to cater for the needs of cargo airlines.

Meanwhile, the border service of the Republic of Kazakhstan has signed a firm order for one C295 medium transport aircraft, expanding its fleet to nine units of this aircraft which can load up to five pallets directly through its rear ramp door. The total number of C295s on order in the CIS is now 13.
