New licensed player in Croatia
CD Cargo Adria has received all the necessary authorisations to operate railfreight services in Croatia. This 100% subsidiary of the Czech carrier CD Cargo opened in October last year. The company now expects to start operating transport services under its own licence in a matter of weeks.
The railway has prepared projects for the carriage of containers, cereals and other goods. CD Cargo has also leased locomotives suitable for operation in Croatia.
For the future, it is preparing to adapt its own interoperable locomotives for use on the Croatian and Slovenian networks that could be supplemented by some locomotives of older series. Everything will depend on current operational and commercial needs, CD Cargo said. (ben)
