New initiatives from Duisport and Rotterdam
Duisport and the Port of Rotterdam have been trading partners for a long time. More than one million teu of containers are exchanged between the two logistics hubs every year.
The port administrations of Duisburg and Rotterdam have signed a joint declaration of intent to renew and expand their cooperation agreements, which date back to 2020. The agreement aims, among other things, to link Duisburg’s "railfreight data hub initiative" with Rotterdam’s "rail connected initiative" as a connection between the port and the inland hub.
The partnership will focus on optimising logistic networks and cooperation in initiatives to promote digitalisation and the energy transition. The agreement was signed by Markus Bangen, CEO of Duisport and Allard Castelein, CEO of the Port of Rotterdam. (sh)
