New hub in the English Midlands
Freight forwarder and logistics company Davies Turner is building another major logistics hub in UK and has acquired a new development site in the English Midlands for this purpose.
The new 45,000 sqm multi-user logistics hub will be located close to both the M1 and M6 motorways and rival in size the company’s largest logistics hub at Avonmouth, near Bristol. Davies Turner’s British warehousing and logistics network amounts to over 300,000 sqm in total.
The site will be able to hold 18,000 standard pallets, leaving around 6,000 sqm of space for stacking cartons or pallets by the ground floor pick spaces. The property will also include 58,000 sqm of mezzanine floors. Davies Turner chairman Philip Stephenson said: “We aim to have the new facility open in spring 2023.” (sh)
