New head of cargo at Heathrow Airport
Heathrow Airport (HAL) has appointed Tim Mayes as new head of cargo. This is a key leadership role at Heathrow accountable for leading cargo transformation, marshalling a capital programme and engaging with a wide range of stakeholder groups, from government, airlines, the freight industry and their own operational teams.
Mayes' appointment along with further steps to strengthen the Heathrow cargo team demonstrates the clear priority and commitment we assign Heathrow Cargo. Over GBP 100 billion worth of goods move through Heathrow every year, representing two thirds of all UK air freight volumes.
Capacity is set to double with expansion, demonstrating the importance of Heathrow’s cargo business to the UK economy. (mw)
