New facility for life sciences and healthcare
DHL Supply Chain has officially inaugurated its life sciences & healthcare campus in Wijchen-Nijmegen (the Netherlands). The new campus comprises a storage area of 44,000 sqm, where medical products can be stored and packaged in different temperature zones. In total, the location employs a staff of about 300.
From the Wijchen-Nijmegen campus, which links two newly established warehouses, DHL Supply Chain takes charge of the conditioned storage and worldwide dispatch of products for pharmaceutical companies specialising in medication for the treatment of cardiovascular disease, cancer and multiple sclerosis.
Some of these shipping activities used to be carried out at the Nijmegen location nearby. Nijmegen will also be part of the new campus, offering customers sufficient space for further expansion. (mw)
