New electric vehicle for western Switzerland

Camion Transport (CT) continues to upgrade its fleet. The transport and logistics company, which is headquartered in Wil, Switzerland, recently added a DAF CF electric tractor unit from the Dutch manufacturer DAF Trucks to its zero-emission fleet. The handover took place in Vufflens-la-Ville, later than planned, because the commercial vehicle market is also subject to delivery delays.

"We are the first company in Switzerland to be on the road with the latest generation of the DAF CF Electric," says a delighted Josef Jäger, director of Camion Transport, whose environmental goals are to provide zero-emission deliveries to inner cities from 2025 and urban regions from 2030.

And the transport service provider wants to deploy primarily emission-free vehicles in its nationwide network from 2040. The stages have thus been set to be climate-neutral by 2050. The new all-electric DAF truck is to be used in western Switzerland. (sh)
