New E-Tech arrives in Bösingen
Six months after deploying its first fully electric truck, Direkt Transport in Bösingen has added a second Renault Trucks E-Tech T4x2 to its fleet. The new unit is operated as a truck-and-trailer combination and, like the first, features three electric motors with 666 hp and a 540 kWh battery, enabling a range of around 340 km, as Renault Trucks has reported.
Marc Gutzwiller, co-owner of the company, confirms the vehicle has proven effective but requires route adjustments due to range limitations. Used exclusively for Swiss Post deliveries, these adjustments remain manageable according to Gutzwiller. A fast-charging station has been installed, currently capped at 130 kWh but designed for 400 kWh. This allows for full charging within two to three hours.
The first E-Tech truck has clocked 47,000 km in half a year. The second vehicle is expected to reach up to 90,000 km annually. With 14 heavy Renault Trucks already in the fleet, Gutzwiller sees electric trucks playing a key role in future fleet changes. (js)
