New direct route to Ireland
Loxx Logistics has launched a new direct route for general cargo and partial load services from its logistics hub in Gelsenkirchen (Germany) to Dublin (Ireland). With departures every Friday, the goods, including dangerous goods, arrive in Dublin on the Monday and can be despatched to their end customers already on the Tuesday.
“This step was long overdue,” says Carsten Battenberg, authorised representative and head of European overland transports at Loxx. “We have now closed the last gap in our European general cargo network. We have been offering direct services even to countries like Malta for many years, so it was high time to include Ireland in this network.”
The Irish logistics company Toga Freight Services will be Loxx Logistics’ freight forwarding partner in the new general cargo service: “It was important for us to ensure that ADR consignments are also in good and reliable hands. Toga Freight has the necessary know-how and experience to guarantee that,” says Battenberg. Toga Freight has a very comprehensive distribution network in Ireland, but also good connections on the European mainland. (mw)
