New CEO at Istanbul's ISG airport

Malaysia Airports has appointed Berk Albayrak as new CEO to pilot Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport (ISG), Turkey’s second largest airport. He succeeds Ersel Goral, who resigned effective 27 April 2021, after having served as CEO of ISG for the past three and a half years.

Malaysia’s Airports’ group CEO, Dato’ Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh, said that Goral “has been integral to the organisation's progress and growth at ISG.” As the aviation industry continues to struggle against the pandemic, the group believes that “ISG is well positioned to take advantage of new ideas and opportunities for the sustainability and continued growth”.

Albayrak has held various positions during his eleven years at ISG, including COO and technical services director, prior to this appointment. Before that, he served as department manager for Limak and GMR Joint Venture, as director of the construction division for DHMI Turkey, and as assistant project manager for the Baki group of companies. Malaysia operates 39 airports in Malaysia and one in Turkey. (amh)
