Neva Baikal Shuttle launched
Russian transport company Fesco has introduced a regular container train from St. Petersburg to Irkutsk near Lake Baikal. The Neva Baikal Shuttle takes six days to reach its destination at the Irkutsk – Sortirovochniy railway station. The weekly service is expected to transport 500 teu per month.
It is Fesco's fourth train service from St. Petersburg, in addition to its regular connections to Vladivostok, Novosibirsk and Khabarovsk. The shuttle transports imported goods arriving in ports of St. Petersburg by sea, as well as domestic cargo from north-western regions of Russia to the Far East, Fesco said. (ben)
