Near Highway 169 and Route 66
Amazon plans to build a 20,000 sqm sortation facility on property adjacent to Tulsa airport (TUL) which handled 52,000 t of cargo last year (-11%). The facility will be completed in late 2021. It will be Amazon’s third large investment in Tulsa, OK, following the 232,000 sqm fulfilment centre that opened in August 2020.
Joe Robson, chair of the Tulsa Airports Improvement Trust: "This initiative capitalises on the use of available land that is adjacent to the airport as well as Highway 169, making it extremely attractive to companies looking to expand near Tulsa’s largest industrial and transportation corridor."
Current tenants located on airport property include Spirit AeroSystems, American Airlines Tech Ops-Tulsa, the Oklahoma Air National Guard, Lufthansa Technik, L3Harris, Fedex, and Bizjet. (ah)
