Narcotics through Louisville
On 17 June 2022, CBP officers in Louisville seized a shipment of 14 Wilson footballs originating from California and bound for Australia. Officers found more than 5.4 kg of methamphetamine in the lining of the footballs.
Some narcotics have stateside addresses while other shipments come from Canada, Spain, Brazil, Nigeria, Mexico, and France. More than 113 kg of these drugs came from stateside residences, while 25 kg came from Canada, and 21.7 kg from Brazil. The drugs were concealed in various ways.
Some of the shipments were listed as sports equipment, while others were hidden in electronics, clothing, and toys. The drugs that were seized included almost 60 kg of methamphetamine, 51 kg of cocaine, just under 50 kg of marijuana, 18 kg of Fentanyl, 2.7 kg of steroids, and 2.3 kg of ketamine. (cj)
