Nanjing from today but deceleration in October
Finnair has received permission from Chinese authorities to operate one weekly flight between Helsinki and Nanjing as of today, 11 September 2020. The route will be operated with A350 until 18 October, supporting cargo and passenger travel demand between Europe and China.
But as overall travel demand recovers only slowly, the previously published traffic programme cannot be implemented in full due. Hence, the Northern European carrier reduces flights from its October traffic programme, operating approximately 70–80 daily flights instead of the previously planned approximately two hundred flights.
Long-haul flights continue to focus on Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong and Shanghai, which are also important cargo destinations, and Finnair will also continue cargo-only flights to New York and Singapore. (ah)
