Multicargas terminal poised to expand

In Brazil, the Multicargas terminal (T-MULT) of Açu Port, in operation since 2016 and located in the north of the state of Rio de Janeiro, presents itself as a new option for cabotage in Brazil.

With 160,000 sqm of bonded area, a depth of 14.5 m and the ability to receive vessels with a draught of up to 13.1 m - which allows the docking of Panamax ships - T-MULT moves a variety of cargoes, such as bauxite, coke, coal, gypsum, scrap, general and project cargo as well as manganese, salt, iron ore and pig iron.

Expansion of the terminal is planned for the beginning of this year, to enable the handling of new types of freight. The project will include extending the storage yard and constructing a covered warehouse. With access to the main Brazilian highways, T-MULT currently carries out integrated import and export operations (port/storage/transportation) in four Brazilian states. (kd)
