Mues shoulders COO role at Imperial Logistics

Juergen Mues has been appointed COO of Imperial Logistics International, as of 15 March 2019. Reporting to CEO Hakan Bicil, Mues will assume overall responsibility for all operational aspects of the business, which employs some 9,000 staff at 170 locations in 20 countries throughout Europe, South America and China.

Mues, who will strengthen Imperial’s senior management team, joins the company from the Swiss railfreight operator, SBB Cargo, where he spent 13 out of his total of 30 years in logistics, in a variety of senior posts - most recently as head of production and executive board member.

The appointment of Mues as COO is part of Imperial Logistics’ rationalisation of its business, which is currently diversified and comprises many subsidiaries that specialise in, inter alia, hazardous materials warehousing, automotive logistics, chemical haulage by road and barge operations on inland waterways.
