MSC starts intra-Asian "Shikra" service
MSC is introducing "Shikra”, a new, independently managed service to enhance connections between China and India. The shipping company comments that it wants to meet growing global demand and strengthen the connectivity and availability of the Asian ports.
“MSC Mara”, the vessel that is used on the service, is estimated to arrive today, 23 May 2023, in Qingdao for the first time. The further rotation is Qingdao – Shanghai – Ningbo – Kaohsiung – Shekou – Singapore – Colombo – Nhava Sheva – Mundra – Colombo – Port Klang – Singapore – Tanjung Pelepas – Vung Tau – Qingdao.
MSC will be updating its "Sentosa" service in due course to remove the calls at Mundra, Nhava Sheva and Colombo, which will now be well covered by the "Shikra" service. (lh)
