MSC Foundation supports Mercy Ships’ project
MSC Group, the MSC Foundation, and Mercy Ships International are collaborating to build a new hospital ship to enhance Mercy Ships' capacity to provide free surgeries and training in sub-Saharan Africa.
The project, which is supported by a substantial donation from the MSC Foundation, will mirror the facilities of the “Global Mercy”, focusing on both healthcare delivery and educational initiatives. The new ship will feature advanced medical and training facilities, including six operating theatres and a simulation lab.
This expansion aims to address the significant surgical needs in the region, bolster local healthcare capacities, and support sustainable development in African nations. (pb)
