MPS launches training simulator at Tema
Meridian Port Services (MPS), a joint venture between Ghana Ports and Harbours, Africa Global Logistics, and APM Terminals, has opened an equipment simulation facility at the port of Tema.
This initiative, the first of its kind in Ghana, aims to enhance productivity and safety in cargo handling by providing comprehensive and realistic training for operators. Designed to mirror the specific crane models and conditions at MPS's Terminal 3, the simulator includes modules for ship-to-shore cranes, electric rubber tyre gantry cranes, and reach stackers.
Leveraging advanced physics and visual modelling, the simulator creates an immersive training environment with various weather conditions and equipment failures and helps boost operator skills and service levels. (pb)
