Moving towards more sustainable mobility
The Domdidier (Switzerland)-based transport and logistics company Von Bergen is celebrating its 130th anniversary and taking a significant step in its energy transition strategy.
As part of an ongoing drive towards greater sustainability, the company recently completed the purchase of new all-electric Volvo tractors and biodiesel B100-powered Scania tractors for its fleet. This step follows the successful introduction of green hydrogen vehicles in 2021 in preparation for its anniversary.
The acquisition of the two new, 100% electric Volvo tractors marks a further move towards limiting the company’s carbon footprint. They are expected to deliver a significant reduction in energy consumption and pollutant emissions compared to conventional diesel models. (cj)
