Moving a backoffice to Greece

Kukla is opening up a shared service centre in Greece, designed to offer administrative support for its own team and now also third parties.

The company moved its backoffice and accounting activities to the service centre in Greece to relieve its operations elsewhere. In Greece, a team of seven oversees the accounts for the Kukla group, going through 8,000 receipts per month and taking over various other tasks.

The move was sparked by Kukla’s rapid growth in the last few years, making decentralised structures more difficult to manage. From this year on, other companies can also make use of the shared service centre. The move to Greece reduced salary costs by 50% and also provided job opportunities for local accountants. The unemployment rate in Greece at the time was nearly 15%. (mk)
