More urban logistics by Urby
The French urban logistics player Urby plans to expand its scope and coverage. The company, an affiliate of the La Poste group, is aiming to achieve revenues of EUR 100 million by 2025.
Urby is expanding. It opened 15 new centres in the Covid-19 downturn, and two more – in Blois and Annecy – since the beginning of 2022. Currently it operates out of 23 cities and has plans to open another six centres by the end of this year.
The company is also developing new services, such as a package for heavy and bulky products that includes delivery to a chosen room, the unpacking of the goods and assembly, as well as the collection of any old products and packaging.
Urby has recently also started offering retailers a package that includes a dedicated vehicle and driver, for a set period of time, to transfer goods between shops and drive-through locations.
Urby delivered about 1 million pallets in 2021. (sh)
