More trains to run through Central Asia
KTZ Express, Russian Railways Logistics and the Transport and Logistics Centre of Turkmenistan have signed a memorandum of cooperation to develop a container service on the North-South railway corridor through Central Asia.
Specifically, the partners agreed to organise regular shipments of goods in trilateral and transit traffic, according to KTZ Express. They also decided on a joint use of transport and logistics infrastructure.
Furthermore, the partners are planning to develop further railway routes by launching new regular trains between Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Russia and to jointly introduce technological innovations.
Back in October 2022, RZD Logistics launched container train services from Russia to Iran along the North-South land corridor through Turkmenistan. (ben)
