More traffic via Ireland
In April, the Danish company DFDS Seaways is adding a fourth ship to the ferry line between Rosslare (Ireland) and Dunkirk (France). The link, launched with three vessels on 2 January, has operated well so far.
The ‘Ark Dania’, a ro-ro vessel with the capacity to carry 188 freight units, complements the ‘Visby’, ‘Kerry’ and ‘Drotten’ deployed in this trade.
The route provides exporters and transport companies with a direct, document-free journey for trucks between the Republic of Ireland and other countries in the European Union, offering lower costs, less waiting time as well as the possibility of avoiding customs procedures that apply to transport via the British “landbridge”.
