More steel transports
ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) has won a contract to transport several ten thousand tonnes more per year for the steel processor Marcegaglia.
In addition to the quantities the RCG has already been handling, Marcegaglia recently commissioned a new order: RCG now runs a block train of pallets loaded with steel strip from the terminal in Piadena, near Cremona (Italy), through the Brenner Pass to the Gebrüder Weiss terminal in Wolfurt (Austria).
The steel products are then delivered to the Blum factory in the Vorarlberg region. RCG coordinates the entire logistics chain, including first and last mile and the main leg of the rail journey through Italy and Austria using its own traction. (ben)
