More space for Iceland Foods
British frozen food retailer Iceland Foods' new contract with XPO Logistics raises the prior level of warehousing and distribution services.
In a joint strategy, the freight forwarder will increase growth capacity for the British supermarket chain, with scalable initiatives for technology, labour optimisation, fleet optimisation and cost savings.
The management of approximately 3,000 colleagues at Iceland distribution centres in Warrington, Deeside, Enfield, Livingston and two in Swindon are now in the hands of XPO. The renewal extends the running partnership to more than a decade.
XPO’s distribution solution combines six Iceland warehouses with supplemental capacity at the freight forwarder's shared-user sites, and additional logistics and transport support as needed for peak demand. (sh)
