More services between Lower Rhine and Sweden
As from 5 July 2021, railway logistics company TX Logistik (TXL), which belongs to the Italian Mercitalia Group, is increasing the number of its round trips between Kaldenkirchen (Germany) and Malmö (Sweden) from three to five per week. The trains transport mainly trailers carrying all types of cargo.
TXL provides all services from start to finish under its own steam – with its own engine drivers and equipment. The route leads via Padborg and Copenhagen to the CMP Terminal in Malmö. Drivers are changed at the German-Danish border in Padborg, and TXL’s Swedish subsidiary takes over the traction at this point.
Specially equipped multi-system locomotives from TXL’s fleet are deployed crossing the Storebælt and Öresund bridges. (ben)
