More round trips on the French north-south route

Starting 7 October, Cargo Beamer is increasing the frequency between Calais and Perpignan from two to four round trips per week. The transit time between the last drop-off and the first pick-up at the respective terminals is 26 hours.

DB Cargo France serves as the rail traction partner for this 1,400 km long route. The Calais terminal offers onward rail and sea connections to the UK, northern France, and the Benelux region, while Perpignan serves as a gateway to southern France and the industrial regions around Barcelona, Spain. Each train has a capacity of up to 42 units, cutting CO2 emissions by an average of 93% per journey compared to traditional road haulage. (ben)
