More power for 101st year
Only few days before celebrating its 100th birthday, on 1 November 2023, Finnair extended the solar plant on the roof of its "Cool terminal", which was opened in 2018, to cover 37% (instead of 10% at the start) of its energy use.
Many Finnair Cargo figures increased year-on-year in October due to the cooperation with Qatar Airways and increased Asian capacity even though the discontinuation of the operations between Sweden and the USA cut North Atlantic cargo capacity.
Available cargo tonne kilometres increased by 23.2% and revenue cargo tonne kilometres increased by 21.8% year-on-year. The total cargo tonnes increased by 27.4% year-on-year and by 10% month-on-month.
Finnair also announced that it will return to Nagoya on 30 May 2024, bringing its weekly frequencies to Japan (Tokyo HND and NRT, Osaka) to 20 flights. (ah)
