More noiseless freight wagons in Iberia
The entire rail wagon fleet of Transfesa Logistics now operates more quietly.
The affiliate of Germany’s DB Cargo has completed the installation of quiet brake blocks (so-called composite brake pads) in all 606 freight wagons it operates in Spain and Portugal. The refitting of the wagons was fully funded by the EU’s ‘Next Generation' programme.
The move is in addition to almost 100 wagons that the company itself has already retrofitted, as well as the freight wagons for international transport, which are also already equipped with these noise reduction systems, as reported DB Cargo in its latest newsletter. (ben)
