More logistics capacities near Stuttgart
Prologis began building a new hub in Illingen, near Stuttgart, on 17 April. 13,000 sqm of the 45,000 sqm site will be used as a logistics centre for operations in the Rhein-Neckar-Region. It is to be completed by the end of the year.
The second part of the plot is intended for a brownfield project. Construction on this 10,500 sqm site will commence in the second quarter of this year.
Prologis sees potential in this region. The investment in Illingen includes a EUR 10,000 donation to a local school to support social projects in the community. Additionally, the company plans to make the site an all-electric building independent of fossil fuel. Heat pumps, charging stations, and photovoltaic systems will be part of its sustainability goals.
