More LNG infrastructure projects

The port company Niedersachsen Ports (NPorts) is building a second LNG jetty on the German seacoast. The LNG handling facility at the Port of Stade is scheduled to go live in the winter of 2023/2024 to strengthen Germany's security of gas supply. To this end, new port infrastructure and superstructure must be developed by the winter of 2023/2024.

In the Cuxhaven branch of Niedersachsen Ports, which is also responsible for the seaport of Stade, the project partners signed the contracts for the construction of the necessary port infrastructure today, 13 October 2022.

Holger Banik, managing director of Niedersachsen Ports and Jade Weser Port Realisierung: "We have been racing against time for six months and have achieved our interim goals through high commitment. We worked out the approval for the early start of construction, the financing and now the award procedure in record time. Now the race is on."

NPorts has the goal in sight at the port of Wilhelmshaven. Another LNG jetty is being built there. The port infrastructure is scheduled for completion in mid-November 2022. (sh)
