More intermodal traffic on the Brenner axis

Consorzio ZAI, which operates the Quadrante Europa freight transport centre in Verona (Italy), and German intermodal specialist Kombiverkehr are joining forces to jointly promote rail transport between Munich (Germany) and Verona along the Brenner axis.

The two partners recently signed a "memorandum of understanding" for this purpose. Quadrante Europa is a central hub on the Scandinavian-Mediterranean Ten-T corridor.

The terminal handles 15,010 goods trains, which corresponds to 436,203 truck consignments and 780,802 loading units or 1.9 million teu. Together with Italian partners, Kombiverkehr currently operates 168 trains a week via Qadrante Europa. (ben)
