More intermodal traffic in Brazil's interior
In Brazil, the rail company MRS and the road haulier Tora have formed a partnership to transport more goods between Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo per rail and to promote intermodal traffic in the country’s interior.
The companies plan to offer joint railfreight services for even small quantities of any type of cargo over short distances between Brazil’s two largest cities and are currently developing new intermodal offerings to this end.
The main focus will be on the hub in Rio de Janeiro and the multimodal terminals Suzano and Itaquaquecetuba in the Sao Paulo region. (ben)
