More hybrid multi-system electric locos
The Swiss leasing company European Loc Pool (ELP) is acquiring ten more Stadler Euro 9000 locomotives. The order follows the vehicle's recent authorisation in the Netherlands and Belgium. The units are scheduled for delivery in late 2025 and early 2026.
ELP currently owns 124 six-axle hybrid locomotives, of which 84 are Euro Duals and 40 Euro 9000s. 100 of them are already in service on long-term full-service leases. With a traction of 500 kN and a performance of up to 1.9 MW in diesel and 9 MW in electric operation, the Euro 9000 has up to 40% more loading capacity. (ben)
