More green fuel for pallet distribution network
The European logistics network Astre is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 50% this year compared to 2023. It has therefore decided to use lower-emission fuels for all daily commuter journeys in its Palet System distribution network.
The vehicles will be powered by biodiesel, such as B100, and the biogenic fuel HVO100, which is now also authorised in Germany.
Astre says that the use of green fuel will result in a significant reduction of emissions in the shipment of the approximately 1.7 million pallets that are distributed annually through a network comprising 46 countries. With this initiative, Astre is taking a major step towards climate-neutral operations by 2050. (ben)
